What's your strategy for Job Hunting and getting responses?

I have heard too many times about job seekers getting very little response once they have posted their resume. Let’s use an analogy to try and understand what is happening with this situation. I am sure that most people have shopped for a car, what was the strategy you used to find the perfect car, granted you may not find that perfect one, but at least you had specific needs you wanted in your choices. Maybe you wanted leather interior, white color, low mileage; you know where I’m going with this. Finding a job is much the same, you need to give it some thought and address your needs and desires, after all, your intention is to be stable, content, and feel like your contribution to the company is recognized. That isn’t asking too much is it?
When you're conducting a job search, you need to make it easy for employers to find you online. These employers or recruiters have a very tedious and difficult goal when trying to match the company’s needs to yours. They often search the Internet looking for passive candidates (qualified candidates that would be interested if the right job was presented to them, but are not necessarily looking) in order to have more choices. Employers and recruiters are using new technologies to find the right candidate, like sourcing programs as JobClub which has many advertising options available, Airs SourcePoint, Monster’s SmartFind, and linkedin.
If you really take the time to understand how someone can find you and what your resume should contain then you will have much better results for a match. Think about what the employer is searching for when you prepare your resume, job title, keywords, qualifications, and affiliations. Update your resume regularly, especially if you’re not getting the results you expect. Try different methods until you find one that gets attention and response. JobClub offers job seekers free video advertising for your profile page, this could make a difference to the employer and get you noticed which is incredibly important in a crowded job market.. Once your free video is created you can use the video url code for placement on any social network site. Remember if your going fishing, don’t cast your hook into the ocean without the right bait.
